Thor Gets His Own Game

Today SEGA announced that Thor, a popular Marvel comic book character, will star in his own videogame in 2011. Thor: The Video Game will appear on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii, and DS.

So far we know that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games will feature third-person action gameplay in which the Norse God must save the city of Asgard by pummeling his opponents with his legendary hammer. The Wii, DS, and PSP versions of the game will be “uniquely suited” to each platform.

The game should coincide with Thor’s arrival in theaters next year. We got our first look at some stills from the film last week which highlighted Anthony Hopkins as the character Odin. You can bet we’ll hear even more about both the game and the movie next week at San Diego Comicon. Stay tuned.
